Coriander, an ancient spice, holds great popularity in oriental and Asian cuisine. It holds utmost significance in Indian dishes, being a staple ingredient in almost every recipe. It is utilized in both its fresh form and as coriander seeds. When used in baking, coriander adds a perfect touch to rye or mixed and wholemeal bread, imparting a slightly sweet and fruity flavor. However, the intensity of dried coriander is much milder compared to its fresh counterpart. The genuine coriander plant is an annual herbaceous plant, serving both as a spice and a medicinal herb. Its seeds contain valuable coriander oil.
